blue planets

Thousands of small blue sponge balls currently reside along Teesside’s coastline. Escapees from Hartlepool Nuclear Power Station, I am currently collecting hundreds of these little planets (technically known as taprogge balls used for cleaning the power station’s cooling systems) to modify an existing piece of public art.

By using this man made waste, the supposed antithesis of all that is natural to create a large blue planet like sculpture, I aim to create an enigmatic curiosity which aligns waste with nature and emphasises the potential to cleanse this particular rubbish of its negative associations by installing en mass as a colourful, bold graphic intervention.

Watch this spherical space.
