A touring exhibition of experimental neon created at the amazing Neon Workshops Wakefield. Rampantly local and massively exciting, I’ve been kindly allowed to invade some interesting spaces with a whole load of neon.
It all kicked off in October with exhibitions for House of Blah Blah and Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, followed by an amazing exhibition and event kindly organised by East Durham Creates and the people of Dawdon Youth and Community Centre and a final outing at Hartlepool Art Gallery.
Originally tasked with creating 3 new neon artworks, I now have a portfolio of 10 hand crafted neon works which includes ‘heart in hands’, ‘vhs r.i.p. ll’, ‘planet’, ‘dead bird’, ‘no sign’, ‘stained glass neon’, ‘sea glass neon’, ‘driftwood neon’, ‘abstract #1′ and ‘little star’.
Huge thanks to everyone that supported the project – in particular Richard, Nikki, Ashley, Rachel, Lyndsey, Keren and Phil – and East Durham Creates, Middlesbrough and Hartlepool Council, Stellar Projects and Arts Council England.
