A neon reimagining of the original installation vhs r.i.p. in a year that saw the world’s last video tape player roll off the production line in Japan. Testament to the enjoyment the format brought into our homes – video tape comes to life and meets a hand crafted neon crucifix as a reminder of our accelerating lust to consume new technology and happily discard those that that were once an integral part of our daily lives. Simple and captivating, the artwork mesmerises the viewer with a dance of black video tape echoing the frenzied consumer rituals of our present day.
Thanks to Mick Stephenson for me sexy stand.
